IN MEMORY OF OLAITAN OLADAPO aka DAGRIN (IF I DIE - DAGRIN - EXCLUSIVE UNRELEASED TRACK)

I would like to start off this article with a song I heard recently heard on the underground by Dagrin. I am not sure when this track was recorded but I believe it sets the right tone for this piece.
If I Die - Dagrin
The first I heard of Dagrin was listening to his track called “Ghetto Dream” and I remember calling my Editor to tell him that I thought this was Nigeria’s very own 50 cent. Coming from a music critic who does not understand a word of Yoruba that should tell you all you need to know about the talent that Dagrin was. His fusion of yoruba and rap seemed effortless and natural. His delivery can only be summarized in one word “sublime”.
So it is with deep sadness that we are reminded of the transcient nature of life through the loss of this immensely talented artist. But I believe its in times like these that we should remember the life he lived and the art he created through his music. To help you do just that, I have compiled videos of his work, interviews and highlights of his sadly short but interesting career.
Rest In Peace
