M.I ‘I will no longer be releasing new music this year’

M.I has announced today that he will no longer be releasing his highly anticipated 3rd studio album dubbed the MI2 project. This will come as a disappointment to many fans of the Naija hip hop scene including yours truly . Instead Mr Incredible stated today that he will be taking the MI2 project in a different direction by making a Nollywood movie . M.I is reported to be extremely disappointed with the leaking of his track ‘Nobody’ featuring 2face Idibia which most of our readers must have heard here on Streetnaij.

M.I today made the following remarks on his Facebook page ‘I am no longer releasing an album this year and the vision of MI2 has been changed. i will not release new music this year, but will instead release an Indie film called MI2. The music I have previously recorded will act as a soundtrack for said movie and will be available on itunes in their complete form, I will rework the song with tuface and will feature (maybe) timi dakolo on God bless you.This is due in part to the fact that my music has been leaking and it really breaks the heart, also because i have had too many unbalancing things happen and cannot record the way I want to anymore.’

He also stated that after speaking to mega-directors, seyo babatope and clarence peters, he decided that under present circumstances the Nollywood industry was the only way he could express his artistry. He also apologized to his expectant fans and has told them to watch out for his film that would revolutionize the Nollywood scene.

So Mr Incredible aka the lyrical Mic inspector has decided to take a break from music ! When will he return ? No one knows but M.I himself ! For a man who has brought so much to Naija Hip Hop in his short but prolific career ,this news comes as a shock to many of his admirers and fans alike.Many viewed this year as one in which the J-town rapper could push himself to the top of the rap game with the much anticipated ‘MI2 project’. He seems at the moment to be a man clearly disillusioned with his recording environment . We hope that M.I makes a quick return to music as a vacuum will certainly be left in his absence .
