Wigan teenage sensation Victor Moses is reportedly considering accepting a call up from the Super Eagles if it comes his way. According to reports from UK tabloid ”the Mirror ” , the 19 year is frustrated with his lack of first team opportunities in the England U-21 squad . He is quoted as being ‘fed up’ with his continued marginalization by England U-21 boss Stuart Pearce, who once again left him on the bench in their latest game against Greece.

Wigan’s £2.5 million signing qualifies for the Nigeria because he was born there - with both his parents also from the country. Moses has only played for England’s youth teams and by virtue of Fifa rules he can revert his allegiance back to the land of his birth. Moses is a reported target of new Super Eagles coach Lars Lagerback and speculation is growing that the teenager is likely to find playing on the world stage in South Africa an irresistible proposition.

Moses came to prominence playing for Croydon based club Crystal Palace with many calling him ‘The best English prospect outside the Premier League ‘. His main qualities are his pace and strength on the ball combined with his clinical accuracy in front of goal .His rise to the top is amazing despite his traumatic experiences as a child growing up in Northern Nigeria. Moses was born and bred in Kaduna, Nigeria by Amos Moses (an evangelist) and his wife Josephine . In 2002 , both his parents were targets killed in the course of riots by religious extremists demanding for the imposition of Shari a Law in the State. He only moved to Britain merely a week after these tragic events at barely 11 years of age .

It remains to be seen whether Moses is ready to put these traumatic events behind him to wear the green-white-green jersey which he cherished so much as a boy playing in the streets of Kaduna. If he does it will show tremendous mental strength and fortitude on his part which will endear him to hearts of many Nigerian fans .It is beyond doubt that his quality would be a welcome addition to the Super Eagles in their quest for a respectable showing at South Africa 2010.
