“Iyanya” Launches album… “My Story”

He is popularly known as “Iyanya” while his close friends know him as Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk. After winning the MTN Project Fame West Africa on October 24 2008, most people that voted for him had been waiting for the release of his album titled “My Story”. He was seen as a very talented artiste who was able to capture the attention of music loving West Africans. Nevertheless, the wait is over with the release of his album.

The 14 track album was released few days back in Nigeria and it portrays the struggle of the Average Nigerian. According to him, “I made the album in a way that every Nigerian can relate to it”.

The album comprises of some A List star performers like MI, Faze and DJ Zeez.

MI was featured on “Gbadun You” while DJ Zeez on “Shaye”. Also, Faze appeared on “No time” while Buckywilla appeared on the re-mix of “Love Truly” depicting the fact that the album must be a “blast”.

The album is a mirror image of Iyanya’s life while struggling to make it in life. The production benefits from the the services of some of Nigeria’s famous producers such as ID Cabasa, OJB, TY Mix and Wazz Beats. With these guys on the album, it is bound to be a success.

As most artist did, Iyanya was once a singer in the church where he discovered his God given talent. From there he was called to perform at various functions such as weddings but was offered the opportunity of performing at Channel view Hotel Calabar. Here, he performed several times till got to where he is.
