9ice “Tradition” a Disappointment

We waited so long for the release of his next chapter after an incredible success with “Gongo Aso”. Critics said 9ice will not be able to do it again but I refused to believe. I felt he’s too good to fail. I hope you have listened to his new album? If not, take a pause and go listen to it if it is worth your money (no disrespect).
After a careful analysis of the entire album, I came to the conclusion that it is a mere ridicule of the true star. I tag it a disappointment. He made use of some funny live instrumental that took most fans by surprise. The production is nothing to write home about. My thinking is that he went for deeper meaning rather than a combination of meaning and good music. My question remains… who was 9ice aiming at with such an album?
As a fan of 9ice, I would like him to go back to the studio and do some hard stuff as he’s known for.
Have you noticed that all the songs I.D Cabasa has been involved in at the moment are of high quality than what 9ice gave us? Was Cabasa involved in the production of the “tradition”? Did 9ice decide to do it his way? Has he forgotten he promised us a Grammy Award?
They planned making the last Christmas airwaves theirs but the reverse was the case as they failed. Hardly did any caller put in a request that any of his latest tracks from “the Tradition” be played during the Xmas and New year period. It clearly signify the fact that the album is a disappointment.
I do believe he has got the talent and should be able to come back because the Nigerian music industry is a tough terrain for such an album.

i usually dont leave comments, and i believe this comment is coming a year late but ill say this…all of 9ice’s work on d gongo aso album was d grace of god and ruthless efforts by cabasa..i dont mean to b rude to anyone one but 9ice is an unapreciative ingrate that bites d fingers that fed him…thats what u get when u think u know it all…he fails to listen to d people that brot him into d game….and if he continues like this…his songs will keep deteriorating…and his manager will bring him nofin but distruction, thats a fact…!!! unless he think back and see where he was at d time of gongo aso, make some changes and be a listener…his songs will go from bad to worse..this is just d begining…after God,he shud see cabasa as his messiah, thats another fact!!! all of them i know too well..!!! after a few album flops,he will see that pple dont bite off d fingers that feeds them…u mite be ungry at a later stage, how do u then feed??
