Kennis Music still in charge

When the publicity started to get the annual easter fiesta going for 2009, most people doubted if this year’s one was going to be a success. The notion was that other Producers and record labels are the ones running the show in the industry. However, the reverse was the case. When you talk about the Nigerian Music industry, the Name Kennis Music comes first. The success of the industry till date is shaped with their footprint around it. The Easter Fiester has been taking place for years now. The Hosts promised to deliver and I bet they did. Top class stars turned up with some powerful performances. It is the first time you find the Nigerian audience so involved in a show like this. The MTV Africa Music Award was held in Nigeria but it looked like an absolute sham as they could not get the crowd going and the artistes were poor. However, Keke Ogungbe the CEO of Kennis Music and his long time Co Host Dee-One took it upon themselves to host a true quality show. Trust me, if you were there you would be able to testify that there was huge if not massive difference between the MTV Africa Music Award and the Kennis Music Easter fiester 2009. Terry G showed that he has got the industry all locked down with a powerful performance. Wande Coal & The Mo-Hit crew, Bigiano, YQ were among the many stars that took the stage. Also, Lord of Ajasa and 9ice gave some quality performances. One of the positive to take out of this show remains the fact that Nigerians now fully appreciate their local stars and can relate with their songs. If you think Kennis music is dead, you better think again.
