One of Nigeria’s mobile telecommunication giant Globacom is well known for its originality in terms of using indigenous artistes to promote its brand. Oladapo Oyebanji popularly known as D-Banj was contracted to be an ambassador including other stars like Sammy Okposo the Gospel singer and Ego of the lagbaja fame. This contract took D-Banj to another level since it gave birth to millions of Naira and other valuable Asset and endorsements. The problem started when he requested for an increase in his pay from a rumoured two million naira to four million naira. This angered the management of the telecom giant who then decided to replace him with P-Square. He was banned from performing in any of the Glo road tour shows. The gist around town is that its not his first time of controversy as he actually rejected to perform free of charge at the Nelson Mandela birthday gig in London. This was why 9ice was used as his replacement. However he has argued his case stating that he only wanted Glo to consider the cost he was incuring in the process.
